Profile<\/STRONG>

Out of action for much of the 2007\/08 season with knee and hernia problems, Willy Sagnol should be fresh for UEFA EURO 2008. The 31-year-old right-back has won all of his international caps while at FC Bayern München, the club he joined from AS Monaco FC eight years ago.

Relegated from Ligue 1 with hometown club AS Saint-Etienne in debut season (1995\/96) but performed well in second division and represented France at 1997 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Moved to Monaco, where he won the championship in his third season (1999\/00).

Immediate success at Bayern winning Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League double, making 14 appearances in the latter but replaced at half-time in final v Valencia CF.

Four domestic doubles won with Bayern, although made minimal contribution to latest in 2007\/08 due to injury.

Fringe player for many years with Les Bleus until Lilian Thuram moved into central defence; started once at UEFA EURO 2004 but played every minute of 2006 FIFA World Cup finals campaign.
