Profile<\/STRONG>

A consistent member of Josef Hickersberger's first-choice team over the past two years, Joachim Standfest has moved from right-back to take up position on the right-hand side of midfield. A stalwart of Grazer AK for many years, he has spent the last 18 months in the Austrian capital with FK Austria Wien.

Born in the Upper Styrian town of Leoben, he joined GAK in 1998.

Scored hat-trick on his debut in European club competition – in a 5-0 UEFA Cup win against KÍ Klaksvík of the Faroe Islands.

Won Austrian Cup in 2000, 2002 and 2004; coupled latter with club's historic first Austrian Bundesliga title (32 appearances, no goals).

Scored first goal for Austria in home stadium in Graz – late equaliser in 2-2 draw against Scotland (August 2005).

Fourth domestic cup triumph with Austria Wien in 2007 (2-1 v SV Mattersburg in final) though substituted at half-time with team 1-0 down.
