The Vila Nova de Gaia-born defender had more of an impact at the following UEFA European Championship, playing against Germany and France, before featuring in all of Portugal&#39;s matches at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. <BR><BR>Club<BR><BR>Rui Jorge spent only one season at his first club, Rio Ave FC, before being enticed to FC Porto. It proved to be a wise move as he won the Portuguese championship in 1992\/93, the Portuguese Cup the following season and four more league titles between seasons 1994\/95 and 1997\/98, the latter campaign notable too for another cup success. <BR><BR>1998: That double-winning season was Rui Jorge&#39;s last at Das Antas and he departed for another Portuguese giant, Sporting Clube de Portugal.
